Reviewing our mission is an important reminder as we sometimes feel like we are struggling through our day-to-day lives – Jesus Christ loves us so much that He died on the cross and forgave ALL of our sins - we are so blessed to be able to serve Him and this world around us! Website & Events Update Our website continues to be updated. It looks very similar to the old website but it is easier to navigate and information is more accessible. We have added information about new agency partners, and we plan to keep our event calendar updated with your help! Click the button below to request an event be added to our calendar so that our church and agency partners can more easily share information about events, etc. If you haven't ever referred a client to Uplift but would like to have the ability to do so in case you have the need, please let the Uplift Mid-MO office know – we would be happy to send you an invitation to partner with us! What’s Ahead for Uplift Mid-MO: 2024 Month of Giving To celebrate our 5th Anniversary, Uplift will be hosting a “Month of Giving” during the month of November. This digital event will replace our annual 5K this year. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to support our mission.  All church partners will receive a hand-delivered media kit in early October. It will include: four short videos saved to a jump drive that show the impact of Uplift to share each week in November (in-church and/or on social), giving envelopes, and flyers about our fundraiser and organization. This information can be shared with your congregation or with any other groups you think might have interest in supporting our mission. Seeking Interviewees Many church partners have expressed interest in providing some feedback for our videos on how Uplift has impacted their church or the community. Uplift Mid-MO Activity Report for Q1 Clients referred – 37 Financial Assistance Offered - $1,588.57 for 5 various services Intakes – 4 - Including housing, utilities, phone, transportation and other needs. There were about the same amount of referrals compared to last year’s 1st quarter, which is consistent with prior years due to tax season. As you can see, not every referral becomes an open case - there are many reasons for this, including lack of contact information, resource information only provided, and duplicate submissions, but often due to the evaluation process for each referral. Uplift strives to be a “gap ministry” (assisting when the criteria of other agencies can’t be met), we evaluate the ability of the assistance Uplift offers to assist in the sustainability of the individual’s independence, and we are faith-based and faith supported by our church partners. Once again, thank you for the efforts you or your church/agency were able to give to assisting those with needs as we continue together the mission of Uplift Mid-Mo - create unity in the body of Christ by supporting local missions and outreach in Audrain County by providing valuable resources to those in need and effectively lead the lost to Jesus Christ. This is the ultimate goal of Uplift Mid-MO and the support of our partners. We Need Your Help filling Board Vacancies! We currently have several spots available on our Board of Directors. We are interested in keeping a diverse group from multiple churches, so we are asking our church partners to nominate 1-3 individuals from their church who might be a good fit for us. Our board meets quarterly, and we would love to have someone serve on the board who has interest in volunteering as well. Overall, this is a low time commitment, but it can be as much as you are able to do. Please be sure to talk to nominees before nominating. Email [email protected] with any nominations by July 1st.
