A Message From Uplift Founder Kate ShawToo often, those of us who are "do-ers" find ourselves stuck in this cycle of taking on too much. We go, go, go, and find ourselves overloaded and burnt out (especially in the workplace). But I can tell you from experience: life is too short for this craziness. I set out several years ago to straighten the stigma and ensure I make a solid effort to present my real, authentic self. I have both walked through my own personal struggles and done a tremendous amount of research on how to not stay "stuck" in this place of anxiety. A couple of years ago, Genesis Church Pastor Jeff Stott and I embarked on a journey to record a podcast series on Anxiety, the first of which remained the #1 listened-to episode on the podcast for a very long time. The takeaway - even people who really look like they have it together just....don't. And that's okay! Jeff and I recently revisited the podcast series when I opened up about my struggles with POTS and the crippling panic attacks and anxiety that come with it. Whether you're a Christian or not, the things I learned that helped me overcome my struggles are worth listening to. If you're like me and have experienced anxiety as a result of whatever crazy life circumstances are being thrown at you, know there's hope! You CAN overcome this and don't have to be stuck there. Check out this episode to see what worked well for me, along with some other helpful resources I found. Here are links (I shortened them for you!) to the helpful reads I mention (and some I don't) in the podcast. I would strongly recommend adding them to your 2025 reading list! 1.
